Cracking Croatia, Novigrad

We have arrived in Croatia at last.

We plan to stay here awhile. A month or so maybe.

Germany and Berchtesgaden was a welcome diversion; we had not expected the stunning scenery and so much to do in Bavaria. And Germany is so organised and efficient, clean and tidy.

We only stopped in Slovenia for 2 nights, just long enough to go out to the local hotel (it was about 100 yards away so we couldn't avoid it) the Hotel Convent it was called. Lovely old building.

Nice meal too with fish and a beer, no nuns or priests in sight. Cost about 50p for three courses.

Our first stop in Croatia is pretty fantastic and we reckon on staying awhile here, just outside Novigrad, and exploring the Istrian peninsular from here.

Today we enjoyed a BBQ that was set up in the campsite doling out sardines (Skusa)  and a locally caught fish called Sredele Przene and I have no idea how to pronounce that. All tasted very lovely.

The sea here is crystal clear and it is going to do my shoulder good to swim every day. And eat sardines and local fish....

I also plan on playing some tennis, there is a club in Novograd with coaching, and there are two clay courts on site here if I can link up with someone of my standard in the campsite. They have table tennis, volleyball, trampolines, and water sports like jet skis and paragliding near here. Of course the sea swimming is lovely, and there are bound to be old and interesting towns to see. And we shall eat plenty of freshly caught fish in case I haven't mentioned that before.
