Packing up and preparing to move on

Today we decided that we should move on and see some more of Croatia.

We went and did some shopping at Lidl, our favourite bargain grocery shop, and got enough to last for 5 or 6 days. Always nice to set off with a fridge and larder full. This much stuff packs quite easily into the panniers and tailbag of the bike. 3 large shopping bags full, pretty impressive.

The we packed the bike away and rolled in the awning, and got the garage sorted ready to set off in the morning. It helps to be organised first thing.

We are going to head across Istria past Rijeka and stop at Senj overnight. Then we plan to head inland to the Plitvica lakes national park for a few days of swimming in clear mountain water again.

This has been our route so far. France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy into Croatia. Next stop Senj I think.

We may not so lucky with facilities as we have been thus far. Camping park Mareda (4 stars) is quite a big place and quite luxurious. Maybe we shall choose somewhere smaller next stop.

The beach is rocky, but lovely with clear waters, and a saltwater swimming pool.

The washrooms and laundry facilities are modern and stylish.

and full of the latest finishes, like corian worktops.

and there were plenty of shady spots to choose when parking the van. But we must move on and see what else we like in Croatia. So we move on tomorrow.
