The Spanish built upwards with funds
They borrowed with gilts and then bonds.
Will they ever repay,
For an end to dismay?
I think not; the shoppers have gone.
We love the mirage we can see
Of our heroes and stars on TV
Is our judgment of need
Distorted by greed?
To a certain and just misery
What cure to that which afflicts?
Where will we find us a fix?
If allowed unrestrained
Our desires untamed,
Find a future ravaged and tricked.
In markets the invisible hand
Will affect the supply and demand
But the poor cannot sell,
And the rich will not buy.
So who will inherit the land?
A puzzle remains to be solved
Is it Hayek or Keynes to be served?
Do we borrow and build,
Or save more and repay?
Or print money; the old can be spurned.
(Austerity/ Infrastuctural development/ Fiscal easing)
