Lake Hawea, near Wanaka, New Zealand

We stopped for fruit on the way up to the Lakes from Dunedin, near the pretty Clutha river, and then for lunch at Alexandra, which has a nice bridge and view of the river.

We ate our lunch beside the old bridge at Alexandra.

There are low thunderous clouds over the mountains to the north of Lake Hawea; this means our flight over the mountains to Milford Sound tomorrow is off, until the clouds and rain pass.

We did manage a walk through the pretty lanes beside the lake, and there are Lamas in the field near the house where we are staying.
